Inventory management

Inventory management for rental businesses

You know how many units you have, which one is in for repair and which one went out with a given booking. Bundles, photos, rates and deposits sit in the same place.

A spreadsheet that can't keep up

How many are free?

The spreadsheet says 10 drills, but two are in for repair and one hasn't come back. You find out when the customer is at the counter.

Which unit was it?

A customer returns a damaged camera, and you can't tell if it's the one you handed over.

Kits and single items

You rent the tripod on its own and in a kit. Without one inventory it's easy to promise it to two customers at once.

What you keep in the Librent inventory

Every unit on its own

Each unit gets a label, serial number and note. Bookings are assigned specific units, so you see which one went to the customer.

Categories and bundles

Reorder categories by dragging. A bundle combines several items into one with its own price and deposit, and availability is counted for each part.

Maintenance and retirement

A unit in maintenance or retired doesn't count as available. After the repair you set its status back.

Prices, deposits and photos

A daily rate, an optional hourly rate, a default deposit per unit and product photos. The photos also appear on the booking page.

Every feature is included, with no add-on modules. All features

Frequently asked questions

Can I hide equipment from the booking page?

Yes. Every product and bundle has a visibility switch. You can still book hidden equipment in the dashboard.

Does Librent scan QR codes?

Not yet. You identify units by their label and serial number.

How do deposits work?

Every product and bundle can have a default deposit. Librent adds it up in the booking, and you mark whether it is refundable. Refundable deposits don't count as revenue.

Can I see how much each item earns?

Yes. The report shows the number of bookings, rental days and revenue for each product. You can download it as a CSV file.
